The new Multi-Project Timeline view

Written by Planzone | Jul 11, 2012 10:12:02 AM

Prior to today, Planzone's multi-project timeline view was read-only and provided a top-level overview of the project status.  You could not see the activity hierarchy or other details within a project.  With the new release of Planzone, it is now possible to drill down to the level of detail needed to be able to make informed decisions.

Each project on the timeline can be expanded to show its tree of activities. The activities can also be collapsed. It is in fact the same timeline view we find in "Project/Planning" but with all the projects on the same page.

The new multi-project timeline offers the same options for modifying project activities as the traditional single-project timeline, such as :

  • modify the start date or the finish date of an activity.
  • move the dates of an activity.
  • allocate a resource to an activity.
  • move an activity under another activity or under another project.

Another major improvement in this new release is the multi-project resource usage view, which is the subject of our next article.
